Artist Marit Harte Conquers the World
Marit Harte (30) has only been making her mark as an artist for five years, yet she already has an exhibition in New York, and her works are flying off the shelves to all corners of the globe. From her home—which also serves as her gallery and studio in Heemskerk—she recently hosted an “Open House” for friends, family, and potential buyers.

New York-based gallery Dernier Cri makes its debut with Night Shift, a moody, tightly curated group show that takes a single idea, the color black, and stretches it into something surprisingly expansive. Highlights range from Julian Mayor’s faceted metalwork to Casey Johnson’s primal, hand-carved forms and the U.S. debuts of Todd Marshard and Marit Harte, whose works explore depth, tactility, and transformation.
